- Late-Onset Alzheimer's Disease Family Study
Description: The purpose of this research study is to study the inherited causes of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) by collecting blood samples and other types of research data for a national registry known as the National Cell Repository for Alzheimer’s Disease (NCRAD), which is located at Indiana University. The study includes individuals with AD and certain family members. Participation requires the collection of blood samples, memory testing, and permission to review medical records pertaining to the medical history of individuals with AD and their family members. We cover all costs, and travel to Boston is not necessary. Arrangements will be made for participants to have their blood drawn locally.
Eligiblity Criteria: Two biological siblings who were both diagnosed with AD at or after age 60, and at least one other close relative (sibling, half-sibling, parent, aunt, uncle, first cousin, niece, nephew, or child) who is at least age 50 who may or may not have AD.
